The Garfield County Conservation District monthly board meeting will be held at USDA Service Center on January 8, 2025 @ 2:00 p.m.

The meeting is open to the public; unless otherwise stated that their will be a closed section of the meeting.

This may state that the ending time is 7:30 p.m. but it may end earlier or later in the evening. The guest speaker portion of the meeting is at the very beginning of the meeting.

Feral swine (also known as wild hogs) are not native to Montana and pose a serious threat to agriculture, wildlife habitat, and water quality. These animals cause extensive damage by rooting up fields, spreading disease, destroying fencing, and impacting native species.

If you see a feral swine or signs of one (tracks, rooting damage, wallows):

Do NOT approach it

Take note of the location

Report it immediately to Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks or your local Conservation District

Early reporting is critical. Montana’s goal is to remain feral swine–free, and public awareness plays a huge role in protecting our land, livestock, and natural resources.

If you’re unsure whether what you saw was a feral swine, it’s still better to report it — when in doubt, report it out!

The Garfield County Conservation District would like to congratulate Dean Rogge on completing two successful terms as President of the Montana Association of Conservation Districts (MACD).

Dean’s leadership, dedication, and passion for conservation have made a lasting impact not only at the state level, but right here at home as he has been serving on the Garfield County Conservation District board going into his 25th year. His commitment to Montana’s land, water, producers, and the young generation of our community is something we are incredibly proud of. Serving two terms as MACD President is no small accomplishment, and it speaks volumes about his integrity, work ethic, and respect among conservation districts, producers, and leadership roles across the state.

We are grateful for the time, many miles, energy, and heart Dean has poured into this role, and we are proud to have him represent Garfield County. Thank you, Dean, for your outstanding service and leadership!
